How to Vote

HOW TO VOTE!

Different Ways to Vote:

By Court Order signed by Judge Snoddy on June 2, 2023, MEINC, as Temporary Receiver for Brookside Park Condominium, is to organize a Special Meeting and hold a Board election on July 10,2023. It is our understanding that MEINC petitioned the Court to move the date to July 19, 2023. MEINC will determine the process, date, time and venue for the election proceedings. It is our understanding that eligible Unit Owners can vote in person on the day of the election, or via proxy. We anticipate that the proxies will be mailed out by MEINC well in advance of the election.

The two options outlined below are based on our understanding and expectations.

Option 1:

Attend the sPECIAL mEETING AND VOTE in person on July 19, 2023

We are told that the Court-ordered Special Meeting scheduled for July 10 will occur on July 19. Assuming we meet quorum at that meeting (quorum is defined as 25% of eligible votes), Unit Owners can vote by proxy or if present at the meeting, they can vote in person.

As soon as information is made available, we will publish it here.

Please plan to attend the meeting in person and cast your vote in person.

If you are unavailable to attend in person and wish to participate in the elections, please see Option 2 for information about voting by proxy.

Option 2:

Vote by proxy ballot (you may still attend the meeting in person)

By filling out the ballot in advance, designating a proxy and entrusting your ballot with your proxy, you ensure that your vote will be counted.

Note that the proxy states: “Proxy holders must be present at the meeting to cast the directed ballot on behalf of the member.” If you select someone to act as your proxy, that person must be physically present on July 19 to serve as your proxy.

If you do not designate a proxy, the meeting Chair will vote as you directed and restricted in your proxy.

Make sure you select up to, but no more than, 5 candidates. The ballot clearly states that if more than 5 candidates are selected, the entire ballot will be invalidated. You may select fewer than 5 candidates. You may also not select any candidates, in which case your ballot will be used solely for quorum purposes.
