Brookside Park Condominium Inc. Welcomes New Board
We thank everybody who came out on Sunday for our Special Meeting and Board Election, despite attempts to confuse and discourage attendance.
In accordance with Article V; Section 6 of the Bylaws of Brookside Park Condominium Inc., and pursuant to the Special Meeting, duly called to order at 5:00 PM on Sunday April 25, 2023 at the Henson Valley Christian Church at 1900 Tucker Road, Fort Washington, Maryland, we had a quorum of over 180 attendees (41 in person and 142 by proxy).
As stated in the Notice for the Special Meeting, there were two items of business: 1) The ratification of the removal of the entire Board of Directors in accordance with Article V; Section 6 of the Bylaws "Removal of Directors". The motion passed unanimously. 2) The Election of a new Board of Directors, also in accordance with Article V; Section 6 of the Bylaws.
Article V; Section 6:
“The entire Board of Directors shall resign within 30 days upon receipt of petitions representing 35% of the total vote eligible to be cast of the total membership, eligible to cast votes, requesting this action and a Special Meeting will be duly called coinciding with the resignations to elect a new Board”
This marks the first time in over 4 years that Brookside Park Unit owners meet in an Annual or a Special Meeting, and the first time in over 4 years that we conducted an election to elect our representatives to the Board of Directors of the Association of Unit Owners.
We are excited to introduce the New Board of Directors. They are:
Robert Haddad (President)
Renee Williams (Vice President)
Heath Bourne (Treasurer)
Keisha Neamo (Secretary)
Annie James (At-Large)
An open Board meeting will be convened in the near future for all Board members to introduce themselves to the community, and to present our vision and our goals for Brookside Park.
An independent audit of the election and ballot count was conducted with the oversight of two Officers of the Court.
Best regards,
Your new Board of Directors
